Patrol Division

The Patrol Division is under the direction of Lieutenant Robert Caruso. 

Patrol Division Officers are responsible for Criminal and Traffic Patrol for City of North Wildwood.  

 
bulletThe patrol units handle the initial response to 911 calls. 
bullet They deal with all types of calls and complete the initial report of criminal activity. 
bulletThey are also responsible for maintaining safety on the roadway and streets in the City. This responsibility equates to traffic enforcement. Officers are responsible with ensuring compliance with all New Jersey motor vehicle laws and City Ordinances.
bulletThey are the most visible police presence in the community and it is their job to provide primary law enforcement services to the public 24 hours a day, each and every day of the year. 
bulletThey conduct investigations of suspicious activity, observing for criminal activity, motor vehicle investigations, 
bulletThey ensure the safety and security of the residents of the City, and those who visit here.

Patrol Officers are trained to quickly respond, assess, and manage all kinds of situations. Patrol Officers handle a great number of routine public assistance calls and assist other agencies in times of public emergency such as fire, flood, or other disasters.

The patrol division consists of four squads working 12 hour rotating shifts. Each squad is under the direction of a Sergeant of Police.
